What's in store for a Digital 2025
Jason McGee
CEO at Jascom Ltd - Web Designer, Digital Consultant, Project Manager and Tourism Consultant.
I always like to do an office clear out in Jan each year. I am one of those people who is task and goal driven so a white board is never far away as you can see below. So I just want to share my thinking on what Digital 2025 might look like for me.
Elearning
My plan is to put more courses on to my website (www.jascom.ie) so start to monetise what I have learned over the last 25 years in the digital space. I know alot about Domains, Hosting, Web Design, SEO, UX, Cybersecurity and more. I already have a YouTube Video Channel that I share with my customers to train and support them when launching websites.
Artificial Intelligence
By all accounts 2025 will be the year of the AI revolution. I know its already here but it will become main stream with new tools and services being rolled out for everyday tasks. The opportunities in the medical space alone are staggering. I am already looking at integrating AI Chatbots into everyday websites and I expect this to be common place within a year. I have already connected a pilot for tourism using www.visitblackrock.ie
Cybersecurity
When I first started designing websites more than 20 years ago the workload around cybersecurity was about 5%. Now its at least 50% of what I do and more on a daily basis and the DevOps / Cyber Defence side of the business means that I undertook a major upgrade of my servers last year moving over 200 clients to the latest hardware and software platforms. That's just to keep up! I also presented a "Cybersecurity for your website" workshop and regularly write blogs and updates.

Sustainability
I will be honest and say as an SME I haven't really looked at how I can make my business "greener" but this year I will. I will be looking at all things from heating, to power consumption to printing and more. As someone who lives in a village by the sea I am keenly aware of the impact of climate change and rising tides. So much so I used AI to show what it might look like.
Be Smart
I have always used "SMART" goals on digital projects - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time. I use Asana on all projects large and small and share access with clients so they can see everything as we progress together. It works very well for all.
But on a personal note as you grow older you realise you have to be smarter about your Health, Relationships, Values and Outlook. You can fill your life with stuff everyday to keep you busy, stressed and frantic - but who wants to do that? A few years ago I made a conscious decision to work from home (before the pandemic hit) and thought it might be smart choice. I need to keep making smart choices in 2025.
If you want some help on any of the above for 2025 visit - www.jascom.ie
