As we all know, the compressor of the industrial chiller is the core component of our whole set of equipment, and it plays a vital role just like the brain of our human body. However, when the water chiller is running, sometimes due to factors such as our on-site usage and our human operation, it may cause the compressor to burn out.

When the compressor of the water chiller burns out, it will inevitably cause pollution to our entire system. The residual refrigeration oil in the equipment pipeline will be carbonized, and some dirty powder produced by wear will hinder or cause pipeline blockage, etc., which will directly affect our normal production and cause certain economic losses to the company. So why does the compressor of the refrigerator burn out? How can we avoid it? Let's analyze it together.

There are several reasons for the burning of water chiller compressors:

1. One of the reasons is that the phase is missing, and long-term use leads to burning. The water chiller compressor has corresponding protection, but the line on the compressor head falls off and the machine burns. This is not the first time I have encountered such a thing. This is directly related to the manufacturer. I hope everyone can give more advice.

2. Water chiller compressors all have phase sequence protection. If the wiring on the compressor falls off before the unit is started, the phase sequence protection should not close the control loop. The wiring on the compressor falls off after the industrial chiller compressor is started normally. Or there is a problem with your phase protection. Why does it fall off? The main reason is maintenance. No one has checked the wiring head for a long time. The refrigeration compressor machine should be placed outdoors, exposed to wind and sun, and not properly maintained will cause this problem. It is also recommended that when the refrigerator really burns, you don’t have to rush to replace the compressor immediately. You should first pull out the main power of the unit. At this time, the compressor is very hot. After cooling, use a multimeter to measure whether it is burned. Because some compressors now have built-in thermal protection, which is connected in series at the coil inlet, inside the compressor, and this thermal protection is recoverable.

3. Voltage-type phase-loss protection is to detect the three-phase power supply voltage. If any phase is missing, the connection with the load will be disconnected. The current type is to detect the three-phase current. If the current of one phase is zero, the connection between the power supply and the load will be cut off. The voltage-type phase-loss protector cannot be started when the phase is missing, and directly protects the load. When the current type is missing, as long as the missing phase is not the load control power supply, it can be started, but the missing phase will be detected immediately and the power will be cut off. When choosing, in general, choose the voltage type. When the motor may be dragged by other objects, because the motor has a voltage reverse transmission phenomenon like a generator when being dragged, some voltage-type protections with low sensitivity may not work, so the current type is used at this time.
