what's the real kick?

The age old saga... what really engages and motivates people to work? Tons has been written about it for decades, and several researches with mediating and moderating factors that possibly cause / influence behaviors.

As children, spontaneous learning and curiosity are vital for our cognitive development, and as we grow in our biological age, rules & regulations mean that most of what we do is extrinsically motivated to an extent. The conceptual age that we live in, we seem to be going back to basics (and we must), which is - small things matter. 

It's imperative to have a 360 integrated view; and the fact that the nature of our new economic system, doesn't support predictability, expecting responses; likes; on social media; from friends / followers right away could be a bumpy ride. Understanding that extrinsic motivation can only take you that much is key today!

In fact, the awareness that some people are developing and aligning that intrinsic motivation is making their own purpose and meaning of life go above and beyond in every sphere not just work is a movement towards a larger change. On the work front as jobs turn into programs / projects, the leaders need to enjoy and give the much needed push...

Imagine when on a crossroad, using a GPS or not is a choice. That choice lays the foundation of change with everything you can think of, you do, what drives etc. It’s those who realize that our motivation is totally intrinsic when passion takes the driver's seat, the choice we make and the change we want is when we can respond to the world #Ourway
