The Past 3 years have proved to be some of the most challenging for businesses, employees, and entrepreneurs across the country.
2023 in particular proved one of the biggest challenges as many cut spending, cut costs, and overall changed their habits having businesses further in a hole and searching for ways to reignite their audiences or leads.
For businesses, employees, and everyone in between it is more imperative than ever to lock in and make sure you are doing the most with your time. The days of sitting at your desk and watching Netflix or YouTube TV are over. So with all that being said, let's glance at what people are seeing results with.
Set Expectations
The waiting game is one of the worst things, whether it's a text, email, or physical product. Many of us have the habit of forgetting to reply, noticing customers what is next, or simply setting expectations of when their items will arrive. True transparency and letting people know what they can expect from Start to Finish helps every relationship flourish that much more.
Originality is KEY!
The "Let me copy them" movement has officially caused many companies to fall flat on their face as it becomes more of a bidding war and people often lean to the cheapest option (thanks Amazon).
Those who have strayed away from copying others and truly tapped into their creative juices, especially with marketing and product creation, have been able to carve out their lane in their perspective markets. Furthermore, they've been able to capture a good percentage of the market share as they can't find those items anywhere else.
Exceed Expectations
From start to finish, don't we love it when companies go over and above? I learned this from a mentor who would always go over and above for his customers, even opening his phone to them 24 hours a day. He quickly grew his rolodex of customers and in turn, was able to grow his network even larger as they would be pitching him all the time to their family and friends.
Switch mindsets and wouldn't you love your customers or surrounding family/friends to do the same for you?
Simply meeting expectations unfortunately blends you in with the rest. As much as meeting expectations is incredible in any line of business, doing even just a little more than the others can truly make you a "unicorn" in the industry.
Keep Open Communications?
I can't speak enough about Communication. It can truly make or break every relationship. I've seen some of the best partnerships, friendships, and relationships crumble due to poor or no communication. It's the foundation of every relationship, especially during tough economic times.

From regular checkups and seeing how a customer is doing to ensuring everything is going well with their product/service. Keeping relationships flowing and making it more than just money is one of the keys to every flourishing partnership.

The underlying lesson here is you have to take risks and continue to market even when you think the economy is turbulent.
