What's the Production Process of Squeeze Casting at CEX?

At CEX Casting, we are committed to delivering high-quality aluminum castings with exceptional precision and reliability. Below is an overview of our carefully designed production process, focusing on the steps we take to ensure every component meets the highest standards:

1. Strict Control of Raw Aluminum Quality

We begin with a stringent selection of raw aluminum. Our procurement team ensures that only high-purity aluminum is sourced, providing the foundation for high-quality castings.

2. Aluminum Melt Purification

Once the raw aluminum is in-house, we use specialized aluminum purification equipment. This step is crucial in eliminating impurities and ensuring a clean melt, which directly impacts the final quality of the casting.

3. Unique Feeding Process and Mold Formation

Our proprietary squeeze casting equipment is specifically designed to form aluminum parts. The advanced feed system ensures that the aluminum melt fills the mold uniformly, resulting in precision castings with minimal defects.

4. Gate Removal

After casting solidifies, the excess material (gate) is removed. This process eliminates unnecessary metal, leaving behind a clean and precise casting.

5. X-ray Inspection for Internal Defects

Each casting undergoes X-ray inspection to detect any internal porosity or hidden defects. This non-destructive testing ensures that all components meet strength and durability requirements.

6. Fluorescent Dye Penetrant Testing for Surface Defects

We also perform fluorescent dye penetrant testing to inspect the surface for any cracks or imperfections. This allows us to catch surface defects early and address them before they affect the product’s performance.

7. Deburring

The next step is to remove any burrs or sharp edges from the casting, ensuring smooth and safe handling. This also improves the aesthetic finish of the component.

8. Shot Blasting

Shot blasting is used to clean and enhance the surface finish of the casting. This process helps to prepare the part for subsequent treatments and ensures a uniform texture.

9. Heat Treatment (If Required)

For certain applications, we apply heat treatment to enhance the mechanical properties of the casting. This step improves the material’s strength and hardness, ensuring it performs optimally in its intended use.

10. Drilling, Tapping, and Machining

We offer additional machining services, such as drilling, tapping, and turning, to meet the specific requirements of each part. This ensures precise dimensions and functionality.

11. Surface Treatments: Powder Coating/Electrophoresis

To improve the durability and appearance of the casting, we apply surface treatments such as powder coating or electrophoresis. These treatments offer corrosion resistance and an attractive finish.

12. Packaging

Finally, the finished components are carefully packed to prevent any damage during transit. Each part is meticulously packaged to ensure it reaches our customers in perfect condition.

At CEX Casting, we prioritize quality, precision, and customer satisfaction throughout the entire production process. Our focus on every detail—from raw material selection to final inspection—ensures that we consistently deliver top-tier squeeze castings.
