What's with the persistent SWIFT bashing?
There seem to have a number of frauds (or attempted frauds) perpetrated where the media is claiming that SWIFT has been hacked.
As I understand things, the network interface gateways have been hacked through various nafarious means not the actual network itself. There are then calls coming out of the woodwork demanding that SWIFT tighten network security or even redesign the network to be more secure and spreading the matra of doom and gloom.
I do not hear those people claiming that we need to abolish and reinvent the internet because someone, somewhere has been a victim of a phishing exploit because they had not installed the latest security patches and virus protection.
The issues are one and the same.
Before I get clobbered by those who want to replace the SWIFT rails with variants of the Blockchain, this article is not endeavouring to support or distance from such initiatives. I just wish that the doom mongers would get their facts straight and lay the blame at the right point in the process.

8 年Hi Bob, I totally agree with you. But also Swift as non profit organization should reconsider their pricing and e.g. Add 3skey solution for free or made automated script audit of swift infrastructure for free. Soon or later swift will compete with other VAN providers and instead of sucking more money for every occasion.
