11/4 BRIEFING “DEMOCRACY IN CHANGING WORLD”

Stephen R. Burke discussed the evolving nature of democracy, highlighting the shift in global leadership from the US to China and the internal conflicts within nations. Surveys revealed that 72% of Americans and 40% of the world believe the US is no longer a model to follow. Republicans prioritize the economy, immigration, terrorism, national security, crime, and taxes, while Democrats focus on democracy, Supreme Court justices, abortion, healthcare, and education. The discussion also covered the impact of these divergent views on global leadership and the challenges of setting a good example. The conversation emphasized the need for effective leadership and the potential for a hybrid democracy model
