What's Next
In 1994 I built my first client website (web what?). In 1995 I ran my first social media campaign (it wasn’t called social media then). In 1999, I was embedding video on websites and creating tech blogs to get higher search rankings on Alta Vista. In 2006 I launched the first brand on YouTube (why would anyone watch a video from a brand on their computer? And what the heck is a YouTube?) and the first character Twitter account. So what’s next?
- VR brand experiences
- Predictive social intelligence as primary business data
- The demise of Facebook (it’ll be a slow death)
- Dozens more Clubhouse & Tik Tok-like apps before the fad fades
- Reddit and Quora exploding to mainstream audiences
- 2-way Virtual attendance at sporting events (tickets for unique remote camera view, your audio piped into stadium speakers)
- Explosion of retail investing creates a real free market
- Classic kids movies and action films audio tracks with CG animation laid on top (Disney+ will pioneer this for quick, cheap content leveraging their immense back catalogue)
- Indie productions on Netflix and Prime
- YouTube launches original content via subscription on separate platform
- mRNA vaccine for common cold & flu
