Two New Series in the Works

After a two-week break, we’re back to introduce our summer collection. We’ve conceived of not one, but two new research series to keep you informed and inspired, whether you’re taking advantage of the quieter period to catch up on your industry learning, or just looking for some light, informative reads. You will get all of that content, and more, in this very same newsletter.

The most popular post of our intro series was our AI market map, so we've decided to devote more time to the exciting products arriving on the AI market. First up, we'll be answering your burning questions around the underlying technology, and separate the hype from the real solutions for investors.

Products & Markets: Tech and User Trends Shaping AI Roadmaps

After publishing our first six articles, we realized we were underestimating our readers. You’re among the most knowledgeable practitioners of technology in finance, and you deserve more than another summary post you could find on any consulting blog. That’s why Products & Markets is going deeper into the products, components and trends that are influencing investment decisions and operations today.

On Capital AI, we have been exploring general AI use cases and what firms can gain from adoption. Now, we want to give you the tools to be the smartest voice in the room when it comes to devising a strategy. Should you build in-house, or look for a partner? Which LLM is best for what you’re trying to accomplish? What do all of those three-letter acronyms actually mean? We dive into these topics and more in our next article.

On alternating weeks, we will present our new profile series:

Agents of Change: Innovators in Private Equity

Building on our first series about the transformative impact of ML in private capital, we are adding a personal perspective to our blog content to showcase how generative AI is impacting individual firms and professionals.

In Agents of Change, we delve into the daily lives of those at the heart of the private equity sector—analysts, associates, tech leaders and managing directors. Through a series of candid interviews, this series aims to offer a unique lens into how artificial intelligence is redefining roles, influencing decisions, and shaping the future of investment.

Each article will profile a different role, often anonymously, so we can share real, transparent insights. The aim is to explore not only how AI impacts the work of investors, but also who they are, why they chose their path, and how they view their role in the broader financial ecosystem. Inspired by similar narrative-driven series from blogs like McKinsey’s QuantumBlack or DealRoom’s M&A Science, Agents of Change seeks to humanize the technological trends reshaping private investment.

Stay Tuned

As we go deeper into AI products and interview our industry peers, we invite you to join us in understanding the nuanced impacts of AI through the eyes of those who use it every day. Keep an eye out for our next post, and join us as we explore the intersection of finance careers and cutting-edge technology in our two latest series.
