What’s Next in AI: Integrated Solutions for 2024

It’s been a busy quarter in the AI world. OpenAI and other LLMs are moving towards production-ready instances of their latest models and leading healthcare institutions are starting to take notice. From a survey we conducted with executives at several health systems and EHR companies, we gathered that identifying the best implementation of AI within their organizational workflow was a top priority and one they felt needed to be addressed in 2024.?

This hype has been great in accelerating AI adoption. However, it has also created a lot of noise in the space as “AI” in itself is a very generic term that could apply to different parts of the workflow. As a result, we now have hundreds of AI point solutions, each solving a specific pain point for a specific kind of doctor.?

From my healthcare experience, point solutions can be difficult to manage and don’t integrate as well with other systems. This presents a challenge for risk-averse providers who at the end of the day want to save time using the technology.?

With Shine AI, we’re taking a more holistic approach to interoperability. Our web extension acts as a data conduit between platforms, allowing providers to work with other solutions without the friction of manually entering data in several places. I believe this will help foster a culture of adoption for providers across different types of AI solutions, and truly create a collaborative ecosystem of developers and providers.?

Furthermore, as specialized providers navigate the complexities of adopting new technologies, the ability of solutions like Shine AI to integrate effortlessly with existing EHR systems without the need for API integrations is a necessity. Solutions need to be seamlessly integrated into the EHR.?

There’s no doubt that AI can transform the way physicians practice medicine. However, the current landscape is filled with several point solutions without a seamless way to connect data from one platform to another. We’re incredibly excited to be building these gateways at Beam.
