Instagram tests out full-screen scrollable display for videos and photos
In a video posted by head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri this week, he shared that Instagram would be shifting to a more “immersive experience” where content would “take up more of the screen” a.k.a. Instagram is going to start looking increasingly more similar to TikTok.
Mosseri shared in the Instagram update that Instagram recognises that the future of content is sized “9 by 16” and to ensure audiences can enjoy content this way, the app will begin testing content in this format this week.?

Facebook tests new notification 'Bubbles'
In their latest move to increase engagement within the app, Facebook iOS are testing out a new 'Stories-like' notification bar. Under the notifications tab, as seen in the screenshot below shared by social media expert Matt Navarra, selected iOS Facebook users are seeing the added notifications bar, which looks similar to the stories bar that users would usually see under the private messaging tab.
Once clicking on the notification bubble, you'll be automatically directed to a feed of the most recent activity from the user, making it easier to stay updated and engage with users posts.
Testing is in its early stages, so it will be interesting to see what comes next for this latest feature.
