What’s New in SAP Digital Supply Chain Management, Edition for SAP S/4HANA

Since the onset of COVID-19, supply chain has maintained a steady presence in the media. Disruptions from everything including the pandemic itself, ships running aground, extreme weather, and war – by now you are probably familiar with the list that continues to grow.

?The ability for companies to predict and respond to potential disruptions, as well as for when business conditions are smooth, has increasingly gained the attention of businesses’ c-suites. No longer is supply chain management strictly a way to cut costs. It has become a strategic aspect of businesses large and small.

?In early 2021, SAP introduced the SAP Digital Supply Chain Management, Edition for SAP S/4HANA (DSC Edition). Like everyone else, we couldn’t have predicted that the issues in 2021 wouldn’t quickly fade. The DSC Edition is a composable package of solutions for supply chain professionals and can be deployed independently from other solution implementations. This means it can easily serve as a steppingstone to broader enterprise transformation offered through SAP S/4HANA, while allowing companies to address immediate supply chain needs – logistics, manufacturing, planning and operations.

?We’ve continued to further develop the DSC Edition offerings, including capabilities such as:

• SAP Manufacturing for Production Engineering and Operations;
• SAP Transportation Management, SAP Extended Warehouse Management, and SAP Yard Logistics;
• SAP Manufacturing for Planning & Scheduling;
• SAP Service Parts Planning.

The modularity and interoperability of the DSC Edition solutions allows companies to quickly implement essential capabilities to address immediate disruption threats with long-term sustained benefits. The user experience benefits from seamless, cross-functional integration vertically and horizontally for end-to-end scenarios and can be deployed in the cloud for greater agility and accelerated time-to-value spanning the complete Plan-to-Fulfill cycle. Addressing critical supply chain capabilities quickly means the journey towards broader transformation with SAP S/4HANA can be taken incrementally.

?As we approach the 1.5 year mark from when we introduced DSC Edition, it’s noteworthy to mention that more than 200 customers have opted to take advantage of the offering. Our offering seamlessly integrates with our other products such as SAP Integrated Business Planning, SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud, SAP Business Network and SAP S/4HANA. We will continue to further develop this critical, modular design to help businesses achieve resilience in their supply chains.?
