PFAS RELATED CORPORATE NEWS FROM SEC FILINGS AND EARNINGS CALLS DURING THE LAST WEEK

Primo Water Corp. warns about potential negative impacts on future earnings including water becoming contaminated from hazardous substances including PFAS, increased public concern over the presence of PFAS in public drinking water supplies and changes in laws and government polices related to PFAS.

Analysts are still bullish on the stock of Montrose Environmental Group despite a sharp drop in the stock price in recent weeks. They see the U.S. EPA's addition of PFOS and PFOA to the listing of hazardous substances under CERCLA has being as a significant driver for Montrose Environmental's future revenue and profit expansion.

AECOM announced that Jill Hudkins as chief executive of its new Water & Environment Advisory global business line. The Water & Environment Advisory global business line will manage complex water and environmental projects and builds on the company's capabilities in high growth areas such as advanced digital water asset management and automation, environmental permitting, per- and?polyfluoroalkyl?substances (PFAS) remediation.

7 Reasons to Treat PFAS In Situ eBook (link to download free eBook)

  • In situ remediation is the lowest-cost option, representing less than 1/3 the cost vs. a pump and treat solution
  • The process generates no PFAS waste materials, eliminating the need for disposal or treatment
  • With no permanent equipment to maintain in situ remediation simplifies the process and eliminates the need for ongoing operation & maintenance (O&M)

This ebook examines 7 Reasons to choose in situ PFAS remediation, which treats PFAS contaminants directly below the ground surface. This remediation alternative converts the aquifer into a subsurface filter by applying a technological innovation known as colloidal activated carbon (CAC), commercially offered as PlumeStop? and SourceStop?. In simple terms, preventing PFAS exposure risk comes down to a choice between treating PFAS aboveground or belowground. Both options are considered PFAS remediation, preventing the migration of these chemicals to eliminate or reduce the exposure risk (ITRC, 2020). However, the choice between aboveground or belowground approaches can have significant and lasting consequences relating to cost, community protection, and long-term liabilities for site owners, operators, and responsible parties dealing with PFAS contamination in groundwater.

REGENESIS invites you to attend our upcoming Fall 2024 webinars. In October, we will be featuring two webinar events with key environmental thought leaders. Topics will cover prioritizing actions to address exposure to PFAS and federal PFAS regulations heading into the US election in November. Each webinar will provide an opportunity for questions and answers. Certificates of completion are available on request. Sign up for the upcoming webinars today!*

* NOTE: We encourage you to register even if you are unable to attend every event since you will receive each of the recordings following their scheduled broadcast dates.

IMPRINTED POLYMER SURFACE FUNCTIONALIZATION OF ACTIVATED CARBON FOR SELECTIVE ADSORPTION OF PER- AND POLYFLUOROALKYL SUBSTANCES Brief Summary: Methods of functionalizing activated carbon for selective adsorption of a per- or polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS), methods of removing?PFAS, and compositions comprising activated carbon; and a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) coupled to the activated carbon are described. In the embodiment, the method of functionalizing activated carbon for selective adsorption of a?PFAS?comprises coordinating a?PFAS?template with a plurality of functional monomers;…

FLUORINE-FREE HYDROPHOBIC COATING Brief Summary: A fluorine-free coating composition comprises a functionalized poly(siloxane) having a poly(siloxane) segment and at least one trialkoxysilane terminal group. When applied to a substrate, the fluorine-free coating composition forms a transparent hydrophobic coating. The transparent hydrophobic coating may have properties such as easy-to-clean and environmental stability. As such, the fluorine-free coating composition is an environmentally friendly substitute to existing ophthalmics coatings based on PFASs (per- or polyfluorinated alkyl substances).

ANTIBODIES AND BIOSENSORS FOR DETECTION OF?PFAS?COMPOUNDS Brief Summary: Antibodies and antibody fragments that bind to polyfluoroalkyl and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are described for use in biosensors for detection of?PFAS?compounds in environmental samples. Detectors incorporating the biosensors and kits for use with the detectors are also described.
