What’s new in MeshUp?—?India’s leading social network for neighbourhoods
It’s been a little while since we’ve had a proper blog post, hopefully, you’ve noticed some of the minor updates over the past eight months. We thought it would be best to communicate with you the exciting new features we are working on and we intend to do this on a regular basis.
The two main features delivered last week were:
1. Neighbourhood Map
We have created a dedicated section that lets you see your neighbourhood on a map and gives you the ability to customize your neighbourhood according to your need.
For example, if you are living in Powai, chances are that you will also like to follow nearby localities like Andheri East, Saki Naka, etc., as you might have your office in nearby localities or travel frequently in those areas. The neighbourhood map section let’s you do just that!
This was made possible thanks to the Google Maps APIs.
2. Post in selected neighbourhoods
MeshUp now lets you select specific neighbourhood where you want to post. So, the next time you want to inquire about a local repair shop or a yoga instructor, you can easily target the relevant audience.
This update was one of our biggest polish release in quite some time. So while we only give you the highlight reel here, there was a whole lot done behind the scenes.
- We tweaked onboarding for new users. Made assigning neighbourhood a bit more intentional (no surprise there!)
- We polished up the styling around tabs with colourful icons
- We have added a beautiful layout with two action buttons to show when there are no posts to display in your neighbourhood
- There are some fantastic behind-the-scenes optimizations to load your feeds smoothly without blocking the UI
- And hey, you now have the option to log out (we hope you don’t use it!)
We’ll have more news about new versions a bit later, so stay tuned!
