LinkedIn's algorithm got a bit clearer in April when the path to content being shown to users was publicised alongside a new video series to give a greater push towards original content. We've got the low down on what you need to know about the changes, let's get into it.
So what are the latest changes?
- New feature for company pages: Commitments
- An insight into the algorithm checks
- Original content continues to take the focus
LinkedIn showcases company commitments
LinkedIn’s Commitments element was originally put into beta back in September 2022 and are now live across accounts with a focus on putting important values of businesses at the forefront of their Company Page.
They connect like-minded staff, build the brand and can encourage users to register their interest in future roles the company displays based on their alignment with the company and its commitments.
You'll find this displayed as a company admin like this:
LinkedIn Gives More Explanation On How The Algorithm Works
The LinkedIn Algorithm can have your brain going ?? but this month, LinkedIn has given us some insight into the factors that affect your posts' performance.
The process goes like this:
- The content is created and posted
- The post author is bot checked
- Human check - does the first human the post is sent to engage
- If yes it's continued to be displayed and monitored for ongoing likes/reactions, shares, comments, and views
A visual look into that process ??
So good content -> not from a robot -> engaged with once it is posted -> that is continually engaged with over time is the key to successfully playing to the algorithm's preferences.
Original content continues to take the focus
Part of this saw the launch of Catalyst "a new LinkedIn News video series that teaches us how to learn from our setbacks" as the platform looks to continue to increase its engagement on the app.
LinkedIn's own content team has expanded its focus on original content which further encourages us that is what the members are looking for.
What's predicted to come in 2023?
- Improved Video Accessibility
- Updates To Job Search
- Content Analytics
That's all from me this month,
