What's new with LinkedIn for June

What's new with LinkedIn for June

LinkedIn released new features across May and early June for profiles, company pages and its ads platform Campaign Manager. We've got the low down on what you need to know about the changes, let's get into it.

So what are the latest changes?

  1. Split your content types
  2. Inactive users removed from your connection count
  3. The Best Times to Post in 2023
  4. New analytics for those in Creator Mode
  5. DM a Company Page

Split your content types... Finally!

LinkedIn has added a content categorisation feature to split your content types out. This means you can quickly see videos, images, newsletters, events, documents and reactions (previously all activity).

This feature is going to help you quickly navigate rather than scroll through!

Shout out to Jack Gaisford for pointing out this new feature.

You may have noticed your followers or connections go down...

LinkedIn has announced that it will no longer count inactive or restricted accounts within your stats.

If you are comparing across platforms, Twitter and Facebook do still include these types of restricted profiles so keep this in mind.

The Best Times to Post in 2023 Revealed

On LinkedIn, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am-12pm are the best posting times for company pages.

Weekends are said to be no good – but this will require testing in your network. E.g. if you recruit people who would work on a typical weekend but have their 'weekend' during the week, are they likely to be active on their work days?

Ultimately, use the info here with a pinch of salt and test out different posting times within your network.

You can find out more about other social platforms' best times to post in this article from Social Media Today.

New analytics for those in Creator Mode ??

LinkedIn has started to add further analytics and tools to provide a more in-depth overview of content performance for users with Creator Mode switched on.

Examples:

The main benefits of Creator mode:

  1. Content performance over a selected time period
  2. Topics you talk about on your profile
  3. Conversations happening now to get involved with
  4. Custom CTA link to a webpage of your choice

DM a Company Page - Finally!

LinkedIn says that Company Page messaging has started being rolled out across Companies so keep an eye on your page if you are an admin.

Options to turn this feature off are also offered.

I know Kieron Mayers , Emily Jerman and Phili Alexander will be excited about this one.

What's predicted to come in 2023?

  1. Campaign Manager options
  2. Updates To Job Search
  3. AI tools

That's all from me this month,

Darren
