What's new at the Capa Center?
Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center
A new and modern visual arts institute in Budapest opened in 2013.
New exhibitions have been added to the range, and thanks to a professional cooperation our reputation has reached Kosovo.

In her work evoking the world of postcards, Szilvia Mucsy presents text and image together, building on their interplay in each case: while the two could be interpreted independently, they also reciprocally interfere with one another. The moments captured in these photos belong to the silence of the world; the short, one-line texts accompanying them give direction to their interpretation. However, the texts do not limit the possibilities of interpretation, rather they mold them. It is a playful game of textual and visual narratives and their coequal status.

Every year, the institutions connected to the professional network of Futures select emerging photographers who are nominated to join the platform. The professional curatorial network offered by the platform makes it possible for each selected ‘Futures talent’ to reach relevant professionals, players in the art market, and the general public in a broader sense. Being included in the Futures program is a certificate of artistic quality and expands the artist’s opportunities for success.

On the 10th of October 2022, the one-year period of the first Hungarian KFOR command will end. For every KFOR commander, the priority task is to ensure a peaceful and secure environment and freedom of movement; a task which has been my precedent. In the course of our duties, many situations became memorable for all of us. The photographs you see here are proof of how our professional and amateur photographers could capture Kosovo, the illustrious landscape, be it natural or man-built, the lives of the soldiers and civilians serving in KFOR, and the moments of our cooperation with you. Our aim with this exhibition is to provide a lasting image for the future of our momentous year, said moments captured by photography as the memory of our presence will slowly drift into history.
