What’s New in Boston: The Latest and Greatest From Delta

Boston, we made it – spring is officially here! I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for warmer temperatures and all the excitement that springtime brings. I can’t wait to get out and enjoy the sunshine in Boston Common and Fenway Park. There’s so much to do in our city this time of year, and I’m excited to take advantage of every opportunity.

I’m also excited for spring travel to pick up. If you’re flying with us any time soon, I want you to know that Delta is working around the clock to give you the best experience possible. If you’ve flown with us recently and experienced any disruptions to your travel plans due to winter weather or other unforeseen circumstances, please know that we’re so grateful for your patience and trust. We know you expect the best from Delta, and we’re committed to delivering just that. That’s why we’re striving to elevate your travel experience by delivering world-class service and reliability.?

Whether you’re traveling home to Boston, flying for business or taking an epic spring vacation, here’s what you can expect on your next Delta flight.

NEW ROUTES AND NEW PLANES

Delta is proud to be Boston’s No. 1 global airline, and we’re eager to continue delivering the best experience possible at Logan International Airport. Over the next few months, Delta will offer more flights from Boston than ever before, including five new routes to Athens (starting May 27), Tel-Aviv (starting May 26), Baltimore, Denver and San Diego (all starting July 11).??Delta is also set to welcome the first Airbus A321neos into our fleet, with the first customer flights scheduled to fly out of Boston. Not only are these modernized A321neos beautiful – they’re also better for the environment with greater fuel efficiency?than the aircraft they’re replacing.

PREPARE FOR TAKEOFF

Delta has rolled out a number of tools to help you prepare for your next flight, including?Re:connect, our one-stop site for everything you need to make your trip seamless. From travel checklists to updates on Delta’s latest innovations, it’s a great, simple way to prepare for your journey. And if you’re flying internationally, check out the?Delta FlyReady? experience. It’s packed with personalized features to help you verify that you’ve met your destination’s entry requirements.?

Speaking of international travel, I recently had the opportunity to escape the snow and head to Puerto Vallarta. It was incredible. If you’re still debating where to go on vacation this summer, I highly recommend flying into PVR!

AN ELEVATED ONBOARD EXPERIENCE

We know the past few years have been challenging. That’s why we’re doing everything we can to make your travel journey as comfortable as possible.

From a wider selection of in-flight entertainment options to new wellness-focused snacks and hot meals, Delta is focused on helping you relax and unwind. I also highly recommend checking out Delta Studio’s specially curated Spotify playlists. They’re all regularly updated with popular podcasts and new songs, including crowd-favorite top hits.

And if you’re traveling to Europe this summer, you’ll have more opportunities to sit back, relax and put your feet up in our?Delta Premium Select?cabin on nearly every flight across the pond. The premium cabin offers more space to stretch out, with a wider seat, additional recline and an adjustable leg rest. Just what you need to arrive refreshed and ready to go!

A MORE SUSTAINABLE JOURNEY

We believe it’s critical to protect our planet and the places we call home. That’s why we launched Flight to Net Zero??and committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. It’s also why we’ve welcomed the airline industry’s first and only C-suite level Chief Sustainability Officer, Pamela Fletcher, to help us continue our commitment to building a sustainable future for air travel.??

You’ll also notice we’ve refreshed our onboard offerings to be more sustainable, including new plush bedding made with recycled materials, biodegradable utensils and canned wine, which have helped us to reduce onboard single-use plastic use by nearly 5 million pounds per year.

We’ve also teamed up with Someone Somewhere to create new, artisan-made amenity kits for Delta One customers. These kits are packed with premium, sustainable products and have helped support hundreds of artisans living in some of Mexico’s most vulnerable states.

ADVANCING OUR COMMITMENT TO CLEAN

At Delta, we have an entire team looking out for your health and wellness. Our dedicated Clean Ambassadors are stationed across 40+ airports to ensure you have a consistently clean experience throughout your entire travel journey. Plus, Dr. Henry Ting, Delta’s Chief Health Officer, makes sure we’re incorporating the latest science-backed guidance to ensure our higher standards continue to be met. I recently traveled to Raleigh for a Duke basketball?game?and I couldn’t be prouder of all the measures the crew took to keep the aircraft clean. Thanks to their actions, I arrived healthy and ready to cheer on the Blue Devils!?

Charlie, best leadership book of the year (until Ed Bastian or someone shares the Delta Air Lines story through the past few years)--Coach K: The Rise and Reign of Mike?Krzyzewski. Keep being excellent and bring the Delta team back to the JFK Library for a tour--great new First Children exhibit through December and an updated space gallery.
