What's in a name?

Deciding on a name for a business can be daunting. It can be personal, and it should be meaningful.

People often ask me “Why Minuteman?”

For me the name “Minuteman Transport” encapsulated the company I was creating and my vision to provide the best refrigerated transportation in the Pacific Southwest (CA, NV, AZ).

In 1985 as I prepared to graduate from UCLA, I was asked by my attorney, what I wanted to call the company I was creating. I wanted a name that reflected dedication, commitment to service and excellence. While commuting to and from school, it came to me, Minuteman!?

?Minuteman Transportation was literally born on the road.

I am passionate about American History, and the commitment of the early Patriots inspired me. Minutemen were always ready to serve. They jumped into action at a moment’s notice. They were dedicated to the cause of helping and protecting their community. They were not afraid to face the road ahead.

?At Minuteman Transport I wanted to create a company inspired by those early Patriots and their values. No one was more committed to service for the American cause than the Minuteman. Always on call for service, was a source of an early Minuteman Transport motto “Ready, willing and able to serve.” ?

?Our early trailers had “Your guardian of perishable commodities” on the side. This was to highlight that Minuteman protected the temperature of the products we deliver. ?

?Our current trailers convey our company’s evolution while honoring our past, “Refrigerated Service with Integrity.” This motto exemplifies our commitment to providing the best service.?

The image of the Minuteman soldier is always at the back of our trailers, looking forward, keeping a watchful eye of protection, over the products we are delivering.

As Independence Day approaches, it has been almost 250 years since the Minuteman marched down the old battlefield roads, starting the chain of events that would lead to the creation of this great nation. Their inspiration is timeless.

It has been almost 40 years since Minuteman Transport took to the road to offer the very best in refrigerated Less Than Truckload service (LTL). We are still “Ready, Willing and Able to be of service,” while providing “Refrigerated Service with Integrity.”
