What's Missing From Your Marketing

The biggest x-factor in your business is you. Period.
You have 1000’s of competitors selling the same thing you are.
If today you’re the cheapest, tomorrow you won’t be.
If today you’re the fastest, tomorrow you won’t be.
If today you’re the “most techy,” tomorrow you won’t be.
The only differentiator you have, IS YOU! That can never be mimicked.
For those of you that are new here, I’m Coach Kyle! I’m a social media coach, a marketing coach, or your personal social marketing expert.
As I travel the country speaking, I get to see all the right ways and wrong ways of marketing yourself. In this blog, I’m going to give you several ideas for you to take to heart. I believe they’ll take your attraction to a whole new level with your sphere and ideal clients.
#1 - YOUR FACE MATTERS.
You are your brand. You can’t stay behind the camera and expect your business to grow. Times are and have changed. People don’t trust brands, they trust people. It doesn’t matter what brokerage your with, people want you. You’ve got to get out from behind the camera….your time in the spotlight is here.
But here’s the key…your face needs to run side-by-side with value! Don’t start jumping on video to simply sell, get on video to educate. What does your ideal client need to know? What do they lack? What are they struggling with? Create content that speaks directly to those things.
The more you are the authority in their life, the more likely they’ll be to not only use your services but refer their friends to your services.
#2 - GET OUT OF THE BOX.
In the real estate industry, there is so much training to help you constantly get better. Sales training, negotiating, relationship management, script practice, and on and on and on.
I believe that as these can make you better at your job, they can also make you less authentic with people.
You can quickly become a real estate robot.
You’re always suited up…or your “Sunday best.” You’re always putting your best foot forward. Everything is about perfection.
Guess what? That is not real life.
Do a quick assessment of yourself? Ask yourself these questions…
- Do you only talk about real estate (business stuff) on social media?
- Are you always “perfectly put together” when you do videos?
- Does your content showcase your personality?
- Why are you holding back?
Getting outside of the real estate robot you’ve become is your quickest way to create common ground with those you hope to serve.
#3 - ADD A PERSONAL INTRO TO YOUR BUYER/SELLER PRESENTATIONS.
When I speak to new crowds, sometimes I add a 3-minute intro to my presentation. I show them a picture of my parents to show where I came from. I share with them a couple of events from my youth. Then I introduce them to my wife and kids. I talk to them about when I used to be a pastor. Then I finish by talking to them about my favorite and least favorite sports teams.
To some of you, this will sound pointless, but I highly encourage you to reconsider that notion.
In the first 3-minutes of my presentation, I give each person in that room or on that call the chance to find common ground with me. Trust begins to take place before I even begin my presentation. I close more business every time I use it. I close less business every time I don’t.
If you want to see what mine look like, hit me up and I’ll share it with you.
#4 - LET PEOPLE IN ON YOUR HUMANITY.
Let your kids pop into your videos. Convince your spouse to be in more of your posts. Tell a story about a time that you screwed up and what you learned from it.
People relate far more to all of these things than you trying to portray yourself as the perfect real estate agent all the time.
Need more ideas? Take one of your kids or a pet with you to put your new listing sign in the yard. Let them be in the photo. Do a video from your back porch with your family in the background. Tell the story about why you chose to get into real estate. Tell a story of a mistake you made early in your career (as long as this was years ago). If you need more ideas…let me know.
When you become the face of your marketing in the right ways, the game will change for you.
If I can do anything else to help you, let me know. I want to be your social marketing person. I want to be your social media mentor. I’m here to serve you! Make today GREAT!
