What’s it mean to MAKE IT HAPPEN?

What’s it mean to MAKE IT HAPPEN?

When I first started Alliance in 2001, I often found myself talking to myself, out loud. Telling myself that I was going to make it happen. As our business began to grow, and things were happening, I was introduced to other successful entrepreneurs. Whenever challenges were addressed with these types of people, you always heard the phrase: we will MAKE IT HAPPEN.

For many years, I aligned this statement to what entrepreneurship was all about. What I wasn’t able to do was to articulate what it actually meant. It took me 10 years to figure out how to explain what MAKE IT HAPPENS means in business.

When an entrepreneur starts a business for the first time, he or she is creating something from literally nothing. They can’t see, smell, hear or touch what that business is going to look like. It is a scary feeling to go blind into a situation— hoping for the best. In truth, when you risk everything to start a business, you don’t just go into the situation hoping for the best. Rather, you sprint into the situation, full steam ahead, EXPECTING to achieve whatever it is you’re trying to make happen. BUT . . .you’re doing this BLINDFOLDED.

For the average person, when you can’t see, hear, touch, or feel something, you tend to be very skeptical about TRUSTING that you will be okay if you move forward with that particular decision. It’s human nature. As a result, most people never take that leap of faith.

This is ANTI-MAKE IT HAPPEN.

People who make it happen believe in something SO MUCH that they don’t have to have the path defined for them, and they don’t have to see, feel, hear and touch something to take a leap of faith to achieve their objective. They know that as long as they are focused, and as long as they drive towards their goal . . . that PATH will soon shed some light. Eventually, you will see the path and how it connects to your goal. Finally, you will have achieved your goal, and you will be able to LOOK, SMELL, HEAR AND TOUCH IT!

That is what MAKE IT HAPPEN is all about.
