What's LOVE Got to "Do" with it? {45}

Dear Sparrow,

When a moment in time takes place that you never believed would, could or should ever happen does, it changes your perspective on life in a major; however, unimaginable way. On this day I witnessed a Fallen Sparrow! An instantaneous outburst of tears streamed my face when I notice Smokey my parent's cat had killed a sparrow on our back porch. The time was 9:10 AM this morning, although God's eyes are always watching us, we all have a number ~ even the birds of the sky.

It hurt me to see a fallen sparrow, because I've never seen one before. Although I love them dearly, truth is, we all have a number that's going to be called, and when we hear the sound of God's voice we all fall. As everyone else that I've loved and lost or shall I say, through all of those I've loved and they've had to leave. It just makes me realize just how precious life it and to enjoy every moment, because our time is always drawing near. From the moment of first breath, we're destined to inhale our last breath, and this morning was the last breath of a fallen sparrow. This mere act is example that God is aware of every life, no matter how great or small, because it's stated at Matthew 10:29 "Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father."

Smokey did what Smokey does as all cat's do ~ hunt, chase, kill, and destroy what it captures on a quest of survival as animals in the wilderness does; however, it doesn't hurt any less when someone or something you love is no longer. It's an instant sadness, it's shock, it's hard to believe; however, eventually we have to conceive we are not meant to live forever.

Sparrows are symbolic to me representing my sense of self, awareness, and my acknowledging that I know my place in this world, my value, worth, power of family, perseverance and the knowing God covers and protects me in all I do. Therefore, to remember my fallen sparrow for it's introduction and exit was all in the same moment, joy and sadness intertwined; however, I know sincere care, and real love lasts forever, and the evidence of this very memorable fallen sparrow is the two feathers preserved serving as a reminder of its existence.

You may wonder, What does love have to do with a fallen sparrow? I'll say as always, Everything! No matter how much of life we are blessed to receive between each inhale and exhale. Its a reminder to simply enjoy your life while you have it, because the day comes when every living, walking, talking or flying person or animal will hear THE call to answer, and we all shall fall. Life goes on; however, memories last forever in our minds, heart, spirit and soul!
