What's on this list that can help you make more progress than last year?

Well, what do we want to accomplish this month?

To often times we have a to-do list & we get to the easiest or the cheapest or do the things we can do that don't have the biggest impact. Have you ever read the book, Eat that Frog?

The basic premise is to handle the biggest, hairiest problem first & then all the others will seem easy. When it comes to our health or the health & safety of our homes, dare we do just that.

1. What was the last time you got your air ducts cleaned? If ever! This is something that you may take a moment to think about. Let me ask you this: How often do you do these things:

·??????? Take a shower?

·??????? Brush your teeth?

·??????? Make your bed?

·??????? Wash your car?

·??????? Wear/Wash the clothes you wear?

We probably didn’t hesitate at all when we asked ourselves that question & answered it.

I’ve found that when you don’t have to interview someone as hard, you know that you are dealing with a trusted source, you can interview with more confidence that you’re really just focusing on, Can this person do what I need done? & Can they do it when I need it done & for the price that I feel is reasonable?

2.????? How long has it been since you got your roof inspected? Did you know that even if you are in a Condo or Townhome, most insurance companies have a maximum time allotted for you to report damage?? For the norm, you want to get your roof inspected at least every 2 years to make sure that if there is substantial damage to where you need to file a claim, it wouldn’t get denied & the roofer can meet the insurance adjuster to make sure questions are answered & you don’t waste time or effort.? When your claim gets declined it stays on your record. Whether the claim is zero dollars or $50,000 dollars, it’s a ding against your claim record.

You may want to talk to your roofer about insurance companies, deductibles, good & bad patterns for you to be able to communicate with your insurance company/agent & make sure you are doing what’s best for you. This is very important, & I can definitely give you some Insurance agents to interview as well.

3.????? Next up, Window cleaning. ?I sold a home years back that was 20 years old. When I offered to get the Seller set up with a window cleaner, they cleaned the windows & showed me rags that they had used on one of the sides of the house, & they were coated with exterior paint overspray. The funny part was that the last time the house was painted was when it was built, 20 years earlier!? Enjoy your windows, have them cleaned inside & out as well as the screens.

4.????? What was the last time that you made sure you were holding title correctly or had a Medical Power Of Attorney done? Whether it’s a car accident or like my story, you over-the-weekend-get Covid, Double Pneumonia & Bronchitis & are induced into a coma for over a month, you never know when you will need one.

These are hot topics & can keep the focus on the priorities when you are still with us or when you’re gone but either way bring peace to the ones you love & may be life changing or a small part of saving your life.

5.????? What was the last time that you had your home tested for Radon? Did you know that in Colorado you should likely test your home for Radon at least once every two years?? Keep in mind that even your emissions on your car can change every few years but yet we don’t take the time to test for the #1 cancer causing gas that is in everyone’s home as often as we should or even at all!? Do your loved one’s a favor & let’s get it tested. I have attached a photo here explaining that you have some radon exposure from several sources throughout your home so you’ve got to be more aware.? January is Radon Awareness month & I do have a vendor that is giving away a limited supply of Radon Testing Kits while supplies last!

Last but not least: What was the last time that you talked to a mover about putting a storage container on your driveway for that upcoming garage sale season so you can do all your garage, basement & spring cleaning done & have those garden supplies ready as soon as they’re available to be ready for those bbq’s? Maybe you want to get a jump start on donations & or getting your property ready for sale/move?
