Is your bathroom as glamorous as the rest of your home? Do you click Insta-worthy pictures there? Is it a place where you can relax and unwind?

If not, then why not?

Well, our team of designers at InSpaces believes that bathrooms are an integral part of your home and they should not be overlooked.

Why have just a utilitarian bathroom, when they can be in the spotlight!

Here, are the top bathroom trends of 2022 that would help you give your bathrooms a ‘new look.’

1.???Out Comes In

The easiest and simplest way of adding colour to your bathroom is by bringing nature indoors. Low-maintenance house plants like Snake Plants, Bird's Nest Ferns, Monstera, or Pampas Greens not only add greenery, but they are also a great way of purifying the air, absorbing humidity, and creating a calm and serene atmosphere.

2022 is seeing the incorporation of built-in planters, living green walls, and integrated courtyards are just a few of the green-thumb elements being integrated.

Green hues have become increasingly popular throughout the whole house, even including the bathrooms.

2.???A tranquil space

2022 is seeing bathrooms becoming tranquil and serene spaces. Japandi, a Japanese minimalism aspect with Scandinavian functionality is quietly making a mark on the scene. It is mesmerizing in appeal, with a calm and serene appeal to the senses.

This contemporary design incorporates a neutral colour palette, sleek styles, and darker fixtures, with exceptional functionality and comfort at the core. There is an emphasis on the usage of wood, brassware, and a deeper connection to nature.

?

3.???Wet Rooms and Walk-in Showers

Another rising trend is the popularity of walk-in-showers over bulky bathtubs. Lazy showers in the bathtubs have become more of a luxury in this fast-paced world.

Since the bath, sink, and shower fit in the same space, it maximizes practicality, convenience, and the best usage of available floor space.

?

4.???Flooring and Tiling options to floor one and all

There is a growing demand for natural, organic materials on floors and walls. Wood, though looks extremely aesthetic, is the wrong choice of material for the bathrooms as its properties would alter because of the humidity content.

This is where Wood-look tiles come in. They are both aesthetically appealing and low on maintenance.

Earthy slates, chevron gradients, and hexagonal patterns are the other flavours of the season.

Using multi-paned tiles is another way of adding interest, and they work well with all kinds of designs – contemporary, minimalist, or Mediterranean.

The usage of intricate wall murals is finding appeal amongst those owners who are looking for a spa-like experience in the comfort of their own bathrooms.

Marble still continues to be a popular choice, with its subtlety and opulence in bringing flair to the bathrooms.

?

5.???Fixtures

The pandemic’s influence is being seen even on the fixtures. Standard built-in basins are fast being replaced with stylish freestanding basins.

Touchless fixtures and rimless basins which are stylish and sleek are much in demand.

Customers are making their choices - clean lines and an unfussy look is what they want, and the trends are a clear reflection of the same.

?

6.???Look under and beyond

One of the emerging trends of 2002 is related to storage options. Bathrooms are being furnished to have better storage and multi-functional spaces. Increasing storage capacity, while remaining stress-free is the goal this year.

Replacing the cramped and messy cabinet spaces has become the prime need keeping in mind the shift towards minimalism. Hidden cabinets, wall shelves, and storage under basins which are compact and make the bathroom appear clutter-free are in much demand.

Floating bathroom vanities are scaling the popularity charts. They help reduce the visual weight of the cabinetry. Built-in organization compartments into the cabinetry or adding baskets underneath helps enhances the visual appeal.

?

7.???Bathrooms from the future

When the entire world is undergoing an upgrade, how can the bathroom be left behind? Smart toilets with seat warmers, automatic lid openers, adjustable air dryers, built-in deodorizers, and more arrived on the scene in 2021.

2022 is going to witness the arrival of the smart bathroom. Smart showers, automatic sinks, a built-in-blue tooth speaker, and voice-activated features for controlling lights and temperature are a few of the features which will make the whole experience more relaxing and memorable.

?

8.???Mirror, mirror on the wall

Mirrors are not just for admiring yourself. Like the rest of your home, mirrors have become smarter and more up-to-date. 2022 is witnessing the rise of various hitherto unimaginable options - anti-fog technologies, smart touch abilities, USB charging stations, and what not!

In terms of patterns and practicality, asymmetrical mirrors with contemporary backlights or front lights are popular.

?

9.???Wallpapers are back

Yes, you read it right! Wallpapers are making a comeback this year. We know not everybody is a fan of wallpapers in the bathrooms, but the powder room, with its zero moisture issues, is just perfect for the beautiful wallpaper you have been eyeing.

With the right kind of pattern, you can have an interesting and impactful creation. Big, bold patterns, colourful murals, and graphics can easily uplift the powder room.

?

10.Wood Accents are In

Warmer tones are making their way in, specifically wooden tones and accents. The various woody shades work well with a wide range of colours – whites, blues, or even greens. They can be used to create different looks – vintage, industrial, classically traditional, or even trendy and modern.
