Search engine optimization is just one of many strategies we use to drive web traffic. But within SEO, there is a multitude of subcategories, tactics, and approaches we apply to direct the outcome. Some are highly technical and applied to the back-end code. Others, like keywords, are on-page tactics as old as the hills, harkening back even to the stone age of the internet.
The year was 1991. It wasn’t that long ago in the big scheme of things, but much has changed since then. Hair. Fashion. Napster. Netflix. Keywords have changed too, but mainly in how search engines interpret them. You still need them. But why so many? And if keywords are a good thing, is there such a thing as too many?
