What's in a job title? As they say 'A rose by any other name ...'

I wonder if you have been fascinated when you see a different job title and just can't wait to check it out to see what it is. Not taking a job title as it's true meaning, could be your next career move. Lots of industries have strange and wonderful industry specific job titles that aren't commonly used elsewhere or come up in job searches, so you may need to be creative with your job alerts and keywords so you don't miss out on roles like the one below.

Anyone hazard a guess as to what a Versatile Technologist does? Interesting title isn't it? I can't say that I have ever seen a job title like this before in my many years as both an agency and in-house recruiter but it intrigued me.

This particular role is in the Defence/Aviation space and requires you to be able to obtain a high level of security because of the systems you will be supporting. So it would ideal for anyone in Brisbane with a Defence background and technical support skills. In fact, this role is a Systems Support/Help Desk/Windows and Linux specialist role.

So my advice in these tough times is -

"Be curious, and don't limit yourself to just looking at those standard job titles"

but set some diverse keyword search alerts up on SEEK, Indeed, Jora etc. and on company careers sites who you really want to work for. You don't want to miss out on a fabulous job like the one above do you? Reading an advertisement only takes a minute of your time and you could be reading about your future. Good luck as always.
