What's Important In These Challenging Times
Hi,
I was talking with my daughter today about Covid-19’s effect on people and possibly the longer term effects on people.
It seems it has really highlighted what is valuable to us, and that’s other people (and toilet paper of course!). They could be family, friends, neighbours but they are people who are important to us.
The technologies we valued were not new submarines, warplanes, new technologies or even gold or silver. The technologies we valued were the ones that allowed us to communicate with the people we loved and valued in our lives.
It’s also interesting that the people who were most valued were transport workers, food producers, doctors and nurses. People who genuinely added value to our lives but do not often receive press or acknowledgment.
It will be interesting how the Covid-19 virus will affect people and our relationship with people in the longer term.
My daughter said often before a major shift in our lives we often go thru a “tough time”. I certainly know this is true for me. Maybe this is one of those “tough times” before a major shift in thinking, but on a global scale.
Cheers
Warren
