- The UK presidency’s consultations with heads of delegations on the main COP decisions (1/CP.26,?1/CMA.3, etc.) have been constructive and we’re seeing Parties among both developed and developing countries emphasizing the need to recognize nature, but also signals?that others?push hard against what they see as a?potential “renegotiations of the Paris Agreement”?by putting too much emphasis on the 1.5°C goal.?
- On common time frames for NDCs, a key ambition issue for WWF, a text with nine options has?been forwarded from the subsidiary body for implementation to the presidency for, hopefully, a resolution by ministers next week.?
- We’re noting that developing countries have expectations for a common definition of?
- climate finance,?a potentially big and difficult if not impossible issue to resolve not just at the COP, but in the long term.?
- We’re hearing more and more that how to resolve the many linked issues between the enhanced?transparency framework and article 6 (markets and non-market approaches) could be a breaking point in this COP.?
