What's Holding You Back? Part 2

Here is what I have learned from reading and myself.
Fear is in your thoughts. Acknowledge to yourself that what you think is a thing that needs handling. At first, just recognize the thoughts you have. Thoughts drive, impress, influence, direct and can take you in the direction you want to go in life. Say aloud at first positive affirmations. I often chant to myself, “ I’m the best, I’m the best, I’m the best”, it works every time. I almost immediately start to feel better and can move on. Recognize your thoughts; listen to what you are saying to yourself.
- Think beyond, “what is the worst thing that can happen?” This thought is the fear, in the moment you need to handle. Write it down. Remember what I wrote in my post, what’s holding you back? Fear is healthy. Letting it end your dreams is a tragedy.
- Take baby steps. Set a few goals, nothing big just something you want to accomplish in the next few days. Write it down, including when you will have completed the task. Goals give you a feeling of accomplishment and control of your life. When you feel like you are not making progress chant positive affirmation to yourself. My favorite is “I’m the best, I’m the best, I’m the best.” It works for me and gets me moving again.
- Listen & read positive information. There are so many positive books and podcast that you can listen to FREE. Dr. Wayne Dyer, Earl Nightingale, Og Mandino, Charles Stanley, Les Brown and Zig Ziegler all widely read inspiring speakers and authors I know you will love. Read at least one quote or listen to a short video on YouTube daily. Lean on the people you trust.
- Stay in the moment. Focus on what you are doing at that moment. It’s a state of mind where you focus on what you are doing, and no other thoughts enter your head. Try It now. As long as you are in a state of intense presence, you are free of thought outside of what you are doing at that moment. As soon as you break from what you are doing, thoughts rushes in. Pay attention to that thought, if it's fear based you now know that to fear is human. Letting it end your dreams is a tragedy. Stay focused be in the moment.
Successful people have the same fears, but they don’t let it hold them back.

Terry
