In this week's newsletter, I am going to talk about:
So, let's dive right into it!
1. "ChatGPT-Godmode": A jailbreak version of ChatGPT-4o
Just weeks after OpenAI’s new model GPT-4o released, it was jailbroke by a an user in X.
For the people who don’t know what jail breaking is:
Jailbreaking is like unlocking a device to give it more freedom than it usually has. In case of ChatGPT, normally ChatGPT follows strict rules set by its creators to ensure it behaves properly. Jailbreaking ChatGPT would mean trying to make it bypass those rules to access features or information it normally can't, which could lead to unexpected or risky behavior.
For example: Normal ChatGPT will not answer to questions like “How to make a bomb” or “how to make meth” etc.
But by using a type of prompt, all the safety checks in ChatGPT was bypassed making it a free soul without any restrictions.
This was done and shared by an user named “Pliny the Prompter” in X. The user said that they have create a very special “GPT-4o UNCHAINED”. It is a custom GPT which has a built-in jailbreak prompt that circumvents most guardrails, providing an out-of-the-box liberated ChatGPT.
The user has named the custom GPT as “ChatGPT-GODMODE”. But OpenAI has reportedly taken down that version.
2. The "Apple- OpenAI" deal is making Satya restless.

Microsoft and OpenAI have a close relationship, but now OpenAI is planning to team up with Apple. Apple has been building relationships with both OpenAI and Google to integrate their generative AI technology, which could be a significant feature in the upcoming iOS 18 update. This potential collaboration between Apple and OpenAI has Microsoft worried.
Reportedly Satya Nadella, The CEO of Microsoft is worried about this deal. He is worried about the potential impact of this deal on Microsoft’s product ambitions.
?
Here are the five reasons I think for Nadella’s Concern
3. Vox Media allows OpenAI to train models on their data.
Vox Media and OpenAI Deal?Vox Media has signed a licensing deal with OpenAI, allowing its content to be used to train AI models.
This deal is part of a broader trend where media companies, including The Atlantic, Wall Street Journal, and Financial Times, are licensing content to AI companies. This helps AI firms like OpenAI gain access to high-quality, fact-checked data necessary for training and improving AI models.
Media companies are motivated to enter these deals to protect their intellectual property and gain some revenue, rather than engaging in costly and uncertain litigation over unauthorized data scraping.?
This helps AI firms like OpenAI gain access to high-quality, fact-checked data necessary for training and improving AI models.
