As the holiday season approaches, we find ourselves reflecting on the journey that brought us here, and we are incredibly grateful for everyone who has made it possible. Year in Review

Company: Eric Robbibaro joined the team at Aspen Biosciences as Director of Sales. Eric brings an extensive background in Biotechnology, Laboratory Automation, Life Sciences, Engineering, Business, and Business Development. He actively engages in the LRIG San Diego Committee, San Diego Lab Automators, and serves as a founding member of the Engineers in Life Sciences alumni council at the University of San Diego. Product Growth: ?

This year, we recruited program managers and scientists from five prominent biotech and pharma companies to provide insights for developing new features on Pipeline, ?a unique, first-in-class platform designed to help biotech companies plan, manage and execute drug discovery programs. Their valuable input led to a state-of-the-art software platform offering modular, flexible tools that are user-friendly and easily integrated with most third-party applications.

Product Launch: At Bio IT World 2023, we successfully launched Pipeline with three essential modules: Protein Production, Registration, and Assay Management.

Further Development: We are advancing plans for additional modules in Chemistry and Program Management slated for release in H1 of 2024.

Strategic Partnerships: Through numerous discussions we forged three new partnerships with drug discovery software/services companies who share our mission to facilitate better collaboration and seamless integration for all clients.

New Services - This year also marked the introduction of our Roadmap Informatics & Laboratory Planning Service designed to help companies achieve long-term goals such as increased productivity in the areas of protein production, compound synthesis, and assay planning & management. Client Projects - Recent projects include:

• DEL Library Design & Screening - We have been diligently working on a custom suite of tools for one of our drug discovery clients, aimed at streamlining the design and creation of DNA-encoded Libraries, as well as running DEL screens. Our system integrates with a SampleScan rack scanner to efficiently manage library creation, registration, and inventory.
• Diagnostics LIMS System We developed an end-to-end workflow that seamlessly integrates order management, EMRs, sample processing, report management, inventory kit management, customer management, billing management, and appointment scheduling. This system enables clients to sign up providers, manage patient appointments and test requests, process samples using machine learning algorithms to generate treatment recommendations and reports, and handle billing.
• Protein Production - We designed a clone order management system that effortlessly integrates with Genscript's order management system. This system simplifies target form design and manages the ordering, registration, and inventory placement of clones. It also oversees the entire protein production process while integrating Dotmatics BioRegister and Inventory modules with a SampleScan rack scanner.

Events: Our team participated in several Conference and exhibitions this year; SLAS in San Diego; Drug Discovery Chemistry; BioPharma PM; and BioIT World, which provided invaluable knowledge, informative discussions, a ?launching venue for Pipeline, exposed potential new markets and insights to help refine some of the features in our Pipeline Program Management .

At Bio IT World 2023, Mark Fortner - Aspen Biosciences CEO, presented “The Secret Names of Things: How FAIR (meta)data can make or break drug discovery” and illustrated the Good, the Bad and the Ugly of our industry’s current state, the risks and impacts associated with not establishing Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable and standardized ontology for pharmaceutical pipelines, ubiquitous protocol management, metadata in 3rd party tools and last but not least, metadata integration at every level of drug discovery. Memberships - Traci Murrie, our VP Marketing has joined the San Diego Entrepreneurs Exchange (SDEE) Executive Committee. We maintain an active membership with the California Life Sciences Association and have added the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening membership this year.

Continuing Trends - Our team continues to support those in our community who require assistance with shopping due to continuing economic challenges. We dedicate time and resources through local organizations, shelters, and food banks. Please consider donating to Feeding America if you would like to contribute to food banks in your area. ?

Holiday Giving - With workforce instability affecting children's holiday experiences this year, we continue donating to our local Toys for Tots.
