Gandhiji’s Nai Talim or Gurdev’s Shanti Niketan
Or Krishnamurti’s Rishi Valley education
Or SSC, CBSE, ISCE, IB, IGSCE, ISC.
The list is endless.
The debate on “Good Education” is unending.
For little Ramu, Shyamu or Pappu.
This whole drama is meaningless.
Your ‘Think-Tank’,
Your ‘Policies’
New ‘Ideologies’
Are hollow and empty till the change enters into my classroom.
Uhh! Did I say classroom? Do I have one?
Yes indeed, I know it well.
I do have Right to Education
But what I need is “Right to Right Education; Right to Good Education.”
For Right to Good Education is the light of my life,
A beacon to a rewarding tomorrow
Shaping the real me.
Right to Good Education is not
Filling my mind
But forming my mind
Arming me with discerning quality
to know the wrong from right
to stand for truth over falsehood.
I as a human being ‘I have a right to live in dignity & honour’.
Let my school be not social prison
What I need to learn is the art of love and inclusion.
Art of cooperation & character building.
Let the Right to Good Education enhance my childhood, fun & friendship.
Let the Right to Good Education be the key to great possibilities.
Leading me in becoming a wholesome good human being,
Extending my hand to another one in times of need,
Listening to the pain of an anguish with open heart,
Embracing the one who got bruised
Let the Right to Good education make me a better human being
As Gurdev Rabindranath Tagore said,
“Where the mind is without fear and head is held high
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father let my country awake,”
Here, I will tweak, into that heaven of freedom, let my inner self awake.
Awake to a high self-esteem,
Awake to a high Self-worth,
Awake to a high Self-confidence
Where I will have a healthy, Physical, Social, Mental, Psychological, emotional & Spiritual Health to grow, thrive and flourish.
Into that heaven of freedom, my father, let my inner self awake.
