What’s going on with real estate right now?
Hello friends and clients!
Hi this is Leo Chen with Coldwell Banker Realty, Newport Beach
If you’re like my clients and friends. You’re probably wondering right now, as many people are, hey I’m a seller and/or a buyer, how should I proceed now with the current situation?
I’m gonna try to sum things up so it’s easy to get caught up and not get lost in all the noise out there right now.
- The state has ordered a lock down of our offices and restricted all in person contacts. So all of our meetings now are done online to service our clients. This include consultations, home showings, contracts and agreements, open houses can be done virtually with coordination and agreements from the sellers.
- All operations continue minus the in person appointments. We are still closing transactions on both buyer and seller side as well as everyone else in the industry. Some people who have a need to buy or sell a house are being taken care of as a priority. As an example, 24 homes were sold and closed just in the last 3 days in Irvine. 91 homes came on the market just this weekend so far and 61 went into escrow. We have everything we need to transact during this time if needed. We just need to work around some constraints. But a lot of homes on the market are put on a “hold” status right now.
There are still people who have previously planned to either sell or buy their home, which are still being done, interest rates are very low and despite what’s going on, they still want to buy a home.
But for right now, the focus is to be safe until we can get a handle on this virus.
