Have you heard of the Chicago Spire hole? It’s a giant, gaping hole that was supposed to be the tallest building in the western hemisphere at 400 N Lake Shore Drive. The project was financially backed in 2005, but was understandably scrapped in 2008 due to the global economic crisis.
