Function: To manifest personal and collective truth. The throat chakra speaks YOU into existence. It is where you claim the right to be YOU. You use your voice to set appropriate boundaries and advocate for your soul's purpose to be made manifest.

The throat chakra is one of the most soul-stabilizing chakras because its resonance is made manifest by our speech-- lending it physicality. It holds space. Because of its proximity to the heart chakra, the throat chakra is more energetically affected by heart energy. Like Lifting the Spirit, by Laurence Groux, the throat has spiritual and physical valves and blockages, positive and negative space, a few rough patches, and undulating energies unseen to the naked eye, that speak the heart's truth. At its highest vibrations, throat energy can synchronize into a harmoniously healing melody that escapes its confines as a yell, possibly a holler, as a whisper or a song, statements of freedom and love, joy and truth, clarity of consciousness, curious and enlightening inquiries, statements of gratitude. Laughter, often.

The trick though is to find balance, and to recognize that the condition of the heart mechanistically and systemically synchronizes into language and language takes many forms-- art, architecture, interiors, writing, music, comedy, fashion, poetry.

Regardless of ones individual frequency, the throat is a critical juncture in the chakra system because your truth, intention and vibration will dictate the frequency of energy and information feeding the throat from lower chakras, and set the tone of speech. Conversely, your intention and vibration will also dictate the frequency of energy and information flowing to you from the higher chakras where your intuition resides. If your heart is full of hate, you may spew hatred from your throat and use your intuitive abilities at a lower vibration. A throat fueled by positive motivations, an enlightened focus, and intentionally deployed heart energy from below can experience not only tremendous energetic connection to the earth, and a solid grounding in the foundational energies of the lower chakras-- (moving in somewhat of a spiral and opening as a torus at both ends), but also a connection to the spiritual realm at varying levels of frequency, consciousness and connection.

By intentionally placing interior elements, considering adjacencies to organic elements, deliberately using natural lighting, and incorporating healing frequencies through texture, color, art, and materials to your interior spaces, you give your body and mind an energetic kickstart that will have a cumulatively positive effect on your mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing.
