Here's Why I'm Writing A Book

Hi Everyone,

I’m writing a book and I've been using my social channels to keep people up-to-date on how it’s going.

Here’s my next update:

This is by far the toughest project I’ve ever worked on in my life.

More difficult than any event, work assignment, learning a new sport, breaking into tech, all the dj gigs, school, and even launching the podcast.

Probably because I’ve been a crappy writer for most of my life.

I was never good at writing it because most of my teachers told me that my writing sucked and I actually believed them. So I grew up being self-conscious of it and pretty much giving up by the time I hit high school.

I’m also finding it to be extremely difficult because of the amount of impact that I want to have on the people that read this book.

Some of my target audience consists of the people that I’ve met over the past 10 years through school and working in tech. But the other half of this audience is a group that is often overlooked by many different people who create content like this -- and my book is being written with those people top of mind.

I’m primarily writing this book to teach underrepresented groups exactly what they can do in order to achieve their goals. No matter the circumstances or the adversity that they may have faced/are going through during the time of reading the book.

I’m summarizing nearly 1,000 hours of studying the world's most successful people in a very simple framework to follow.

Simple, but not easy.

If you follow the 7-step framework that I outline in my book and truly commit to it over time, you will see results.

I know this because I’ve used it.

I use it every single day.

And I’ve used each step to accomplish things that I never thought I would be able to.

Things like:

  • Landing a job in tech from working at a gym
  • Going on a DJ tour across the US and even spinning at TAO in Las Vegas
  • Launching an events startup with one of my best friends
  • Building my ideal physique from being a scrawny, little 18-year-old
  • Transitioning into my dream job at LinkedIn as a Social Media Lead
  • Starting a podcast
  • And I’m even using the framework to write this book.

Up to this point, I’ve been pressure-testing my framework every time I find someone who is successful at what they do.

And now, I’m going to teach every person who might not have had the privilege of learning this information throughout their lives. The people that might not listen to podcasts every day or know about all of the self-help books by Tim Ferris and Stephen Covey.

This book is for the people who might've had a shitty upbringing.

This book is for the people who don’t have the networks lean on for advice.

This book is for the people who don’t have a supportive environment to foster their growth.

This book is for the underrepresented, overlooked, and often, misunderstood.

This book is for my people. ????
