Welcome to the first issue of the Digital Acceleration?Editorial.
I am Radek Zaleski , Partner at Netguru, and I’m happy to kick off this new series dedicated to some of the critical factors driving the ideation and delivery of market-leading digital products.
Let’s start with the basics:
?
What’s Digital Acceleration and why should you care?
I’ll begin with the latter. The answer is short:?your customers.?
They have grown accustomed to the highest standard of digital experience. A whole generation, in fact, doesn’t know any different.
Indeed, talking to these digital natives about digital transformation is like talking to a fish about changing the water in its tank.?In fact, many of them are now decision-makers in businesses worldwide, and their everyday choices push the boundaries of digital.
Looking at the population as a whole, it was the pandemic that boosted tech-related decisions.
As COVID-19 hit, we entered a phase of unprecedented digital acceleration. We witnessed the inevitable: digital haves enjoyed increased market share, while digital have-nots needed to transform under tremendous pressure.
There was no time for lengthy internal decision-making. Real-time responses were required and, in many cases, entire pivots. As 微软 ’s CEO, Satya Nadella, famously said,?“we’ve seen two years’ worth of digital transformation in two months.â€

Now that we’re entering the endemic stage of the coronavirus pandemic,?some of us are tempted to return to the safe, secure decision-making processes we were used to.
However, knowing the user expectations I’ve mentioned,?it’s clear that going back to a step-by-step transformation won’t work.?Businesses must keep up. They need to respond to change or, better yet, drive it. And they need to move faster than ever.
It’s time for Digital Acceleration at scale.
?
Quick and continuous experimentation is the key to developing a product in a way that keeps customers satisfied.?
How to be faster, though? Well, that’s another question, and I’ll be happy to answer next time.
In the meantime, I’m open to any questions or thoughts you might have. Is there something you’d like to discuss in the coming issues? I’m all ears.?
?
Until next time,
Radek
