At Least at the "Whorehouse" there is a "pimp" to Protect the Women - There's No One at FEMA to Protect You
Mr. President and Madam Vice President Harris; distinguished ladies and gentlemen:?
While the title might read like a joke, there's nothing funny about a toxic and hostile work environment; culture of retaliation. Like there is nothing redeeming about prostitution - the devaluing of women. Period.?
The title is just not meant to shock the reader's sensitivities but to make a point. Incidents that have taken place at DHS/FEMA are just obscene. A perversion employee's Constitutional rights. A degradation and dehumanizing of human beings.
Mr. President, in your remarks of April 28, 2021 to a Joint Session of Congress, you said: "It’s never been a good bet to bet against America?[1]." You'll forgive me for lifting your phrase and changing it to "It’s never been a good bet to bet against Frank Ferreira and his colleagues."?
Yet another article - "Cuomo investigation returns spotlight to workplace harassment
?[2]." If only The Hill read my posts. I've been flagging workplace hostilities for now nearly three years - at DHS/FEMA. The Governor just?resigned
. As I just posted:?A Toxic and Hostile Work Environment; Culture of Retaliation
. As I note: there are consequences. A lesson to other predators. "NEGLECTED - No More
." The enablers at FEMA should follow the governor’s example – resign. If they don’t resign, Mr. President fire them.?
But the piece by Ms. Manchester does an excellent job at explaining the peripheral and debilitating impacts that a hostile workplace has on employees. Yet again, even that is nothing really new. I think I have been saying the same, if not in the same terms.?
The bottom-line: all that I have said in my grievances and have posted about is being backed up by more sources than I can site at this point. But because we all have short memories, just a quick recap:
Toxic and Hostile Work Environment: Culture of Retaliation
No In-Coming Missile Alert Protocol
But there is more. Feel free to view the posts on my?LinkedIn account
.?
The question is, why have you taken us for granted? One person maybe suspect, but hundreds and hundreds with filed grievances should be a red flag as large as your demented predecessor's ego - "huge." Everywhere you look, it's there waiting for an adult in the room to put an end to this toxic and hostile working environment; culture of retaliation.?
There has been?NO?word or little action from:
- Neither words nor action after numerous emails and document shared with Chief of Staff, Ron Klein.?
- When the NY Attorney General released a?report
?on the allegations against Governor Cuomo, you, quicker than an Acela train, not only distanced yourself from him, but you called on him to?step down
.?
- In last November's presidential election, just under - and a record - 160 million Americans voted and swept you into office with your ticket winning with nearly 82,000,000 of the popular vote [3]! Women were crucial to your victory [4]. According to PEW, you received 55% of the female vote [5].?
- Mr. President and Madam Vice President, a significant number of my aggrieved colleagues at FEMA were and are women.?
- When it convened this past January, the 117th Congress had a record total of between 141 to 143 women, or 26.4 - to - 26.7 percent of the membership [6] & [7].
- Not since Sen. Hassan raised the issue of FEMA's "toxic culture of sexual harassment and misconduct
" and told FEMA to get it's "own house in order," and the establishment of the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR), there has been neither words nor actions after numerous emails and document shared. No hearings on this topic.?
- In the 117th Congress, just under a quarter of the members are female - 24 [8]. Of the 14 members of the HSGAC, 3 are females [9].
- Again, Chair Peters, a significant number of my aggrieved colleagues at FEMA were and are women.?
- Why have there been no hearings under your stewardship of the HSGAC?
- During the current session, of the 35 committee members, 12 are female [10].?
- Chair Thompson and Demings, I could not have been prouder of the two of you then I was with your focused questioning of the FEMA Administrator when she recently testified before the committee. You took on the harassment issue straight on by raising questions about the RAND study (above). Thank you!?
- VALIDATION – HOUSE COMMITTEE ON HOMELAND SECURITY HEARING - Part I
- VALIDATION?-?HOUSE?COMMITTEE ON?HOMELAND SECURITY?HEARING - Part II
- The Administrator needs to be recalled to address the horrific reports coming out of Puerto Rico (above).
- I'd be honored to testify on the experiences I've been sharing with you and recapping here.
- Hello Mcfly! Anybody home at the Department of Labor? Violations in the workplace and abuse of workers is your domain, am I not, correct??
- Secretary Walsh, where are you?
- Secretary Mayorkas, as a fellow immigrant, I hold you in the highest of esteems. As immigrants, you and I know better than most what it is like to be exploited.
- So, with all due respect, why has you staff not responded to a single email? I'm not Hispanic like you and don't have to be. But many of my friends are. Do the deplorable conditions reported in Puerto Rico not trouble you? When will you act??
- Inspector General Cuffari, my fingers are getting wormed out with all of the emails I have sent you. Never got a response. Not on a national security matter such as the lack of the U.S.'s in-coming missile alert protocol nor on the repulsive working conditions at FEMA headquarters and the offices on the island.?
- I have also contact you on another matter:?Calling on the DHS OIG to Investigate FEMA's FOIA Politicization
. Crickets.?
- In another post:?Thinking of Blowing the Whistle on Waste, Fraud and Abuse at FEMA?
, I quoted you as saying: “IGs deeply value the contributions of whistleblowers," said Inspector General Joseph V. Cuffari. 'We celebrate those who have blown the whistle, and we are committed to empowering individuals to report waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement.'" Okay, I "saw something" and "said something." When will you do something about it??
- Lastly, in that same post I noted your office's work on a study to identify "FEMA’s handling of employee allegation of sexual harassment and workplace sexual misconduct.
" As I noted: here's my prediction - it's more like "mishandling." Why don't we just save the American tax-payer - just read my post and the links to key documents.?
- Administrator Criswell, my unshaken commitment to female leadership remains despite my astonishment with your lack luster performance so far -?The Next President of the United States Should Nominate a Woman to be the Next FEMA Administrator
.
- Exhibit 1 - your performance during the hearing before the House Committee on Homeland Security. Nice “song and dance,” like your predecessor (see two links about under the committee). Regrettable.
- Since then, we've had the report on the situation in Puerto Rico. Should I even bring up the lack of an in-coming missile alert protocol? I'm glad my pressure has resulted on the upcoming national test.
- Hey, I emailed you before you accepted your position to let you know what you were getting into. Not even a "thank you."?
- Have you not had a chance to contemplate my settlement demand letter? I just sent you yet another revised copy.?
The National Emergency Management Organizations
- I spent nearly a decade building the relationship between FEMA and your organizations:?NEMA
,?IAEM
?and?BCEM
. It is shocking how you continue to just stand by and see your former liaison and his colleagues at FEMA work under these horrific conditions.?
- I guess you have more to lose - $2 million plus for one of you and the meager crumbs - $150,000 plus for another one of you. I'm ashamed to have called you colleagues and friends considering what I did to consistently bring FEMA's leadership to your events as participants and keynote speakers. I won't even go into the monthly calls – “bitching sessions” - I set up for your leadership and the Agency's. All you cared about is your bottom-line.?
- I have never seen such cowards. And America relies on you in times of crisis? God help us.?
"Good Government" Organizations
President Kelly, I think the titles of the links say all that I need to say about unions:
Ladies, when you held your million-person march back in 2018 (I think), I was there in that wonderful sea of pink hats to lend my unshakable support. We need you to be there for us now!
- If there's a cause tailored for your organization, it’s this gross condition at FEMA.?
- Care to join us for a press conference adjacent to FEMA headquarters to call on the Agency to "get its house in order?" We're ready.?
Mr. President and Madam Vice President, of course FEMA is not a brothel – that hyperbole. The problem is, many there think it is and women nothing but objects. That unlawful.??
I’m at your call to assist in bringing about the urgently needed change.?
