What's Chai got to do with it?

A few Fridays ago, I was leaving a doctor's appointment and stopped into the cafe in the medical building to take an online meeting. After my meeting, I ordered one of my favorite treats - a chai tea latte (pictured above). I am very aware of all the ways we can organize our tasks via technology and I have used many of them. I'm not knocking them one bit; however, about a year ago, I started keeping a paper-bound notebook again, where I take meeting notes and maintain to-do lists. Since then, I have noticed how nice it is to take a minute to close my computer, re-access what is on my list(s), check things off that have been completed (THIS is so fun - I love checking things off), reflect on projects, and make an updated list. Sometimes, I highlight, star, or underline things that have top priority. Or, I can look at the list and decide what needs to go (it is okay to let something go - I am talking to myself here). This process took about 15 - 20 minutes but it gave me several "wins"...
I am not going to pretend I always make the time to go through this process with a cup of chai in my hand, but maybe I should. But chai or no chai, the rest of the benefits of creating time to reflect and plan are the same and it is an ongoing practice that contributes to my success.
How do you organize your tasks? Do you use a notebook, sticky notes, Applications? What is your favorite treat/beverage to enjoy when you can take a moment to reflect/plan?
