What's CES2016 Got to Do With eLearning?
The short answer is EVERYTHING!
Here's my line of thinking. eLearning and L&D professionals follow trends. They do not set trends. Effective eLearning utilizes the tech already used by the target audience. And our audiences get familiar with the technology that is commercial available. So, it only makes sense that the future of consumer electronics sets the stage for what's possible and effective for eLearning. At least that's how I see it.
This was my first CES and I had expectations of chaos, and massive expo areas. And it was bigger and crazier than that. It's difficult to even highlight any one booth or technology because there were just so many that were outstanding. I was immediately attract
After registration, I was immediately attracted to the massive outdoor tent for Gibson. I thought it would be okay to indulge in a little guitar before getting to the real elearning tech stuff. But much to my surprise, Gibson was showing off their new line of NEAT microphones. NEAT is the team from Blue who created my favorite mic the YETI. When I originally thought I might struggle to find connections to our industry, I was happy to see something I could relate to immediately.
Check out my first blog post of CES. This post includes some of the trends I spotted during day 1 including a video overview of the NEAT microphone lineup.
Day 2 and 3 did not get their own blog posts, but more of a final recap post. After having the weekend to reflect on my experience at CES, I felt like there was something that held all of these technologies. It's one big mega trend you and can read more about here.
