Service Design Café: An Inspiring Kickoff! ??

Our first Service Design Café meetup in February was a great success! The atmosphere was relaxed and filled with rich conversation about Design Maturity. A big thank you to everyone who joined and made it such a memorable evening ?? It was just the beginning of many deep discussions that will continue to shape and inspire our community in the future.?

Here are some of the thought-provoking topics explored during the meeting:

• The fragility of design maturity and how changes in team structures or operations can significantly impact it.
• The excessive focus on efficiency, missing a clear vision and awareness of what is happening around us
• The role of AI in design and its potential risks, such as its own bias.
• The importance of having designers in leadership roles who can advocate for design.
• The need for C-level management support
• The value of offering alternative career paths for designers, recognizing that not everyone is destined for management roles.

Sustainability Awareness Framework with Nitor

Exciting news! On March 25th, Nitor will share the latest updates to their Sustainability Awareness Framework, offering fresh insights and sparking meaningful discussions. A great opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and dive deeper into sustainability in design!

Our second round of Service Design Café will be a collaborative event with SDN France, where service designers from both communities have the opportunity to?come together and learn from each other across borders. The meeting will be held online and will again focus on a pre-set topic requested by the community.?
