What's the biggest misconception in your world?

John Rodriguez, CEPA? and I have been talking a lot about "secrets" lately-- as a better way to describe what you really do than answering "what do you do?" and "how are you different?"
In theory, those questions should work fine, but all too often, you get answers like, "I help business owners increase revenue" and "I put my clients' needs first"-- things that may (or may not) be true, but don't tell you much.
Asking for someone's secret, or the biggest misconception in their world often gets to the hear of that they do and what makes them different much faster.
So what's your secret? What's the big misconception in your niche?
(And if you want more discussion on this, I recently did a podcast episode about "the secret of secrets" and a free training. Check the comment section for details.)

2 个月Reuben Swartz Thank you for sharing this interesting perspective on uncovering the true essence of what we do. Asking for a secret or addressing misconceptions can indeed reveal a lot more about a person's unique value. In my niche, the biggest misconception is that AI can only handle repetitive tasks. The truth is, AI can enhance creativity and provide nuanced insights when used effectively. What's the most surprising secret you've discovered in your discussions?

2 个月Great question! I’d say the biggest misconception is that systems are just about tech. In reality, it’s all about creating processes that work for the people using them. It’s about making life easier, not just another automation, Reuben Swartz
