What’s Behind Your LinkedIn Picture?

What’s Behind Your LinkedIn Picture?

I spend a lot of time in nature during the summer.

You will find me outside as much as possible hiking in the woods, swimming in a lake or simply sitting in an Adirondack chair with my dog Gretzky by my side:

Nature helps me reflect on life.

It helps me think through challenges I’m facing…

Gives me perspective on the tremendous opportunity in front of me…

And today, it made me think about my LinkedIn profile picture of all things.

Go figure...

I’m thinking about changing it to a more professional image, but frankly it’s not that easy.

I chose my LinkedIn picture for what you DON’T see.

If you could zoom out my profile picture here’s what you would see:

I chose this picture because I am the one who sees it the most.

And when I look at it, I see my boys on either side of me through the eyes of my wife on an amazing trip to Hawaii we were fortunate to take.

It makes me grateful…

It centers me when times get tough…

It motivates me...

And puts my life in perspective.

.

Today it got me wondering if there are other stories like this behind your LinkedIn profile picture?

Even if it's because your company made you take it, I'm sure there was something going through your mind when it was snapped...

I’d love to hear about it if you are willing to share in the comments below.

Alright, back to nature…

The day the picture was taken at work, I forgot to bring a tie, so I borrowed one. My wife would have never let me out of the house with that shirt and tie combo. It also reminds me of that job, which was a key part of my journey to success.
