What’s been learned in the 3 decades since the creation of Scrum
This is the third in a series of articles:
"There are three kinds of men. The one that learns by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves.” Will Rogers
?"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it," and?it is often attributed to philosopher George Santayana;
Winston Churchill Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened.
Much of what we’re learned in the last 30 years was known well before Agile.
The attitude that Agile is defined by the Agile Manifesto has held us back.
There has been too much learned in how to apply what was well known before Agile to list it here.? I have written an article Standing on the Shoulders of Giants that describes the foundations of Amplio.
I will list here some of the most pertinent lessons that I’ve taken from this work. It’s the basis for Amplio, Amplio Scrum and the Amplio Scrum Coach.
FOUNDATIONS

WORKING WITH PEOPLE
ONGOING IMPROVEMENT
While this may at first appear to be an overwhelming amount of information to learn, it isn’t. When new concepts are properly introduced with a combination of theory and practice and in the proper format (over time so you can try things out in the workplace) all of this can be learned in 2-3 months by spending 2 hours or so a week. All the while working in your day job.
And the cost for Amplio University is only $995 for 6 months and several other tracks are included if you choose to take them.
Amplio University has curriculum significantly more advanced than what is here. You can learn what you need at the team level just by working through the blogs and videos presented here.? You can also attend Amplio Community of Practice sessions for free and ask questions by going here .
