What's all the Hot Fuss about this Killer vintage amp?

The very first amp I've ever owned has helped create an iconic sound. My father gifted me with this 60's era guitar/accordion Gretsch amp. Small, ugly and obnoxious in its sound I instantly fell in love. Many opportunities to sell or trade I thought better. It's mine. But mostly it sounds unique. Once modified by a top sound engineer while I was in a high school band to allow me to play a bit louder it became into its own. Forward years later it's new environment was my recording studio in Oakland. Two very good friends, Mark Needham and Jeff Saltzman happen to find a new and exciting group to work with and develop out of Las Vegas. Yes, The Killers. As Jeff and I partnered on one of my rooms for production I packed Jeff a large box of goodie bags for him to take to his home studio to work with the group. Included was a dozen Sure SM57 Utilitarian mics and this beat up old practice amp I so love. And it became the sound of Hot Fuss in so many ways. I am told it was the primary amp which helped create the iconic sound. After the session I was offered a blank check with permission to write what I felt I was ok with after discussions went over 15K. No go. Couldn't do it. My first amp. And a tool that I used and will use many times over. I love this thing and I finally decided to share its story. And yes, it sounds amazing.
