This article is for my friends in the construction industry who may wonder what made him move away to the world of L& D.
When I was in my 12th standard in 1989, I had not secured sufficient marks to get a seat in an Engineering or a Medical collage. It was a difficult time for me and family. But then a miracle unfolded! For the very first time ever in the history of the state, a new rule was passed! It was about giving students a chance to improve their marks by reappearing for the subjects in which the marks were less!! Now, that really came out of the blue. I took the chance and improved my marks to get into an Engineering collage.
Its not over, in the year 2008 when I had finalised a deal to by a property with one of the local real estate agency and had a huge amount of loan approved for it, from a nationalised bank. But then just before the release of payment, something very strange happened. It was the recession!! The bank withdrew and did not pay the sanctioned amount. What the hell! was my reaction. But a little later I realised that it was the best thing to have happened to me as I would have been on the receiving end of a property with unclear titles! A miracle indeed!
Now, I had this huge Multi crore construction project order with me just before the demonetisation happened, followed by an unfortunate incident in the clients company. The project is still pending, followed by the ill fate of a couple of other projects. I felt I had done everything right, but still had to face this song! I held on with loads of patience but never gave up and kept trying! This is when training happened to me!
Now, I must tell you that it was not that I took up training because of the events that followed after 2015. In fact deep within me I always wanted to do what I am doing now, from a very long time ago, and that is to make a difference in the lives of people, through connecting with them directly. I am not a builder who is now into training, in fact I was always a trainer who was in construction!
I hope this really clarifies my stand, and more than anything I love what I am doing and thats the best thing to have happened to me in my life!! Thank you.
