In 1951, Hank Williams wrote and recorded the hit country song, Hey Good Lookin’. It’s a fabulous, classic country song with a double entendre twist, mixing food preparation and flirtation.
To my horror, Williams’ song is used as the background music to a current Perdue Chicken television commercial. In Perdue’s commercial, they certainly do not portray the sexual connotation that truly drives the song.
Perdue Chicken’s commercial version is steered by the idea of down-home, simple, and unpretentious cooking. The commercial portrays a very casual atmosphere of informally dressed folks pitter-pattering around barefoot, holding babies, and cooking.
THE TRUTH IS:
1. There is nothing casual about the brutal slaughter of billions of farm animals annually.
2. There is NO “Humane” method of mass slaughtering animals for food.
3. Around the world, Covid-19 outbreaks among meat-plant employees continue to cause a backlog of animals leading to the mass culling of factory farm animals, including fur factory mink.
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
1. Educate yourself on the barbaric way animals are bred, kept, and slaughtered for food.

2. Change your eating habits. Refuse to perpetuate the mass slaughter of factory farm animals for food.
It’s easy! You can do it! Amidst the global Covid-19 pandemic, now is the perfect time!
As vegan and animal rights activists know, there is a key moment in our lives when we made the transformation. Something struck our soul and we crossed over from blindness to enlightenment. We ended our complacency and culpability. If we can do it, you can do it.
As an all-inclusive society, we need to get back to the land and grow plant-based food. Plant-based food is better for our health, better for the environment...and billions and billions better for all animals.
Your Vegan life begins today!
