What YouTube Says About YouTube (and why I love to be a part of it)

You can read this first section of content on YouTube's Great Britain "About" page - complete with supporting videos. I've chosen to copy and paste the content because I want to focus on how it could help your business if it resonates with you too. This first section is 100% their copyright and is shared here for information and focus. I quote...

Our mission is to give everyone a voice and to show them the world.

We believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share and build a community through our stories.

Our values are based on four essential freedoms that define who we are.

Freedom of Expression

We believe that people should be able to speak freely, share opinions, foster open dialogue, and that creative freedom leads to new voices, formats and possibilities.

Freedom of Information

We believe that everyone should have easy, open access to information and that video is a powerful force for education, building understanding and documenting world events, big and small.

Freedom of Opportunity

We believe that everyone should have a chance to be discovered, build a business and succeed on their own terms, and that people – not gatekeepers – decide what's popular.

Freedom to Belong

We believe that everyone should be able to find communities of support, break down barriers, transcend borders and come together around shared interests and passions.

...end of quote...

OK, back to me.

What I'll do is take YouTube's statements and add my own commitments to your success.

In my experience, all businesses have a good story but not many business owners are comfortable with or confident in their own voice.

  • My first set of commitments are to help you find your voice for you and your business,
  • to clarify your message, and then
  • to articulate and amplify that message to the world.

With my help you can show the bigger world your world as you see it, and thus draw like-minded people to you.

My mission is to give you your voice and to help you show the world your world.

I believe that you deserve to have a voice, and that the world will be a better place when you are heard, when you share, and when you build a community through your story.

  • My second set of commitments are around YouTube's freedoms and then some.
  • I want to help you express yourself more freely - to bring out the YOU in you,
  • to help you share your information in a way that people will recognise the value of what you give freely,
  • to increase your chances of being discovered, and
  • to help you build a business that gives you time freedom, relationship freedom, geographical freedom, creative freedom, and financial freedom.
  • I'm here to accelerate your success in finding your people and your place and your purpose in the world... and to let the people that 'get you' declare what they like about you and your story so that you can co-create your collective future.

There's more...

  • My third set of commitments have to do with breaking down any barriers to your global reach.

Thor Heyerdahl, the great explorer, said words that express eloquently the spirit of my intent:

"Borders I have never seen one. But I have heard they exist in the minds of some people."

Honestly... I'm bored by people who don't have a big vision and big ambition. It's not about you, it never has been. It's about us. YouTube is really UsTube, though the title is not as catchy.

If you'd like to co-create something amazing, something bigger than the sum of the parts, something that changes the landscape, let's connect.
