Is what you're pursuing worthy of your passion?

Let me start first, my answer is YES! I'm wholeheartedly enthusiastic about combining ingredients and preparing delicious meals for my loved ones, including my dear friends. The immense satisfaction I feel knowing that they have enjoyed the food is truly indescribable.

Another passion of mine revolves around understanding people. Why do we exhibit certain behaviours? What factors contribute to some individuals making decisions more swiftly than others? I have been observing human behaviour since a very young age, and this has proven to be invaluable in several aspects of my life, particularly when it comes to interacting with my customers. I strive to give them exactly what they desire! Lately, I've dedicated myself to expanding my knowledge in this field, investing in further education.

Allow me to share a story that relates to my recent discovery. The Covid-19 pandemic caused significant disruptions in countless lives. While many viewed it as a curse, I found it to be a mixed blessing. As someone who used to frequently travel for business, having the opportunity to spend uninterrupted time with my family was truly heavenly! However, my husband and I were separated for a staggering 18 months. During his initial year of solitude, we both independently decided to adopt a canine companion, a man's best friend! Despite being 8000 kilometers apart, we coincidentally selected the same dog! It was as if fate had intervened.

Now, you may wonder, what does this furry angel have to do with human behaviour? Well, she has become my personal case study. I firmly believe that any living being with emotions exhibits behaviour, and this includes dogs.

The photograph attached to this narrative was captured during one of our recent walks. She was captivated by the graceful swans, the elegant moorhens, and, abnove all, tjhe lively ducks on the tranquil lake. On that chilly dayu, she impulsively attempted to take a plunge into the water, but we promptly invervened with a command. Naturally, she ended up getting wet! Sometimes, she can assertt herself quite assertively. I have witnessed her take charge and guide other dogs. She possesses an expressive and outspoken nature, and her sensitivity towards our emotions is incredibly profound, fuelling her passion. In summary, she embodies a blend of all four types of behaviours. Ultimately, her predominant trait can be classified as S/DI. Love and praise serve as her driving forces.

She thrives on affection and positive reinforcement, and her behaviour reflects her passion for connecting with her human family. Watching her interact with other dogs and observe her surroundings has further deepened my curiousity about human behaviour.

Just like humans, dogs have their own unique personalities and ways of expressing themselves. Some are more dominant and assertive, while others are more submissive and easygoing. Observing these traits in my fur angel has helped me understand the complexities of human behaviour even more.

Through my studies and personal experiences with my dog, I've came to realise that understanding behaviour is not limited to humans alone. It encompasses all living beings with emotions and desires. It is through this realization that I've found a renewed passion for studying and exploring the intricacies of behaviour.

As I continue to pursue my passion for understanding human behaviour, I'm constantly reminded of the importance of empathy and compassion. Each individual is driven by their own unique set of motivations and desires. By recognising and acknowledging these differences, I can better connect with others and provide them with what they truly need.

So, to answer the question, yes, what I'm pursuing is indeed worthy of my passion. Through my love for cooking and my curiosity about human behaviour, I'm able to communicate better with others and deepen my understanding of the world around me. It is through these pursuits that I find fulfilment and a sense of purpose.
