What is your SUPERPOWER?
My superpower is … ??
I think it's safe to say that the world is in a state of constant disruption with an infinite number of "opinions" about any number of circumstances coming from all forms of media! Who should we listen to? Who should we trust? It makes me consider Superman and his seemingly infinite wisdom, power, and the ability to make the right choice in a split second all while saving the girl. A protector of the people for the people.
"People" defined by Oxford: Human beings in general or considered collectively.
People are interesting to me... I interact with people all day long from all over the world. It's fascinating!
Sometimes I wish I could empathize with people better...really understanding their thoughts, perspectives, ideas, challenges, constraints, emotions; who they are and why. I think that would make me a better version of myself.
What if my superpower was to ask really good questions, listen really, really well and then process?
What if my superpower was to understand and then empathize?
What if my superpower was to be still and seek to discover truth?
What if my superpower had absolutely nothing to do with me?
Would having the superpower of reading people’s minds help? "If I only knew what they were thinking or how they truly felt and why I would/could/should..."
Why do they say this instead that?
Why do they choose this over that?
What drives their decision?
If you're a #marketer, having the power to see what your customers sees and feel what they feel and understand their delight or frustration as you are vetting your marketing strategies would be considered a SUPERPOWER! But it's not that easy....or is it?
Quad recently acquired Package InSight, a leader in category, elemental, and emotional analysis for brands who work to understand the intersection of design and human behavior, and then make that knowledge applicable to their business. Quad has partnered with PI for many years so it was a natural progression and alignment of business goals for Quad and PI to join forces!
As I think about superpowers, my mind drifts off to one of my favorite Chicago born craft beers: Revolution Brewing Anti-Hero. ?? Maybe it's the iconic "fist in the air" graphic or the green, white and red color scheme that says "powerful" to me. Since beer season is picking up, I included a link where you can see how a category (like Craft Beer) can be explored and documented though the Package InSight methodology. Other categories like gum, breakfast cereal, pasta or even sustainability can be reviewed by clicking on the chili pepper icon ?? located on the homepage.
If you have any questions or want to learn more about how Quad and Package InSight can help your business, please let me know in the comments or by sending me a direct message.
